Need some help in the garden? Include the kids 😀 Even small kids can help with watering the plants and picking ripe fruits and veggies. #kidsinthegarden #childdevelopment #summer2020
View of #bitihorn on our (early) morning walk. So close, yet so far away...
Summer in the mountains #jotunheimen Hiking with kids this summer? Bring food/ healthy snack that the kids love & let them decide the pace. It's ok to walk 500m filled with fun activities like collecting small rocks & picking berries. Small kids remember the fun, not the view #hikingwithkids

Retained primitive reflexes- may be a sign of developmental dalay or neurological immaturity in the child. The primitive reflexes form the base of a child's motor development. At first the baby's movements are involuntary, such as sucking, gripping, and extending the arm on the same side as head rotation. Later, the movements become voluntary and more complex. The next step is the postural reflexes that give rise to skills such as sitting, crawling and standing. A delay in the integration of the primitive reflexes may delay more complex motor development and cause a delay. The primitive reflexes should be integrated by 4-6 months. Is your child showing motor delay? Have the reflexes checked!
HOMOLATERALITY. The ability to move one side of the body while keeping the other side still. To you as an adult it might sound easy, but for the developing infant it is tricky. The two hemispheres of the brain are wired for mirrored movements at the start of our lives. Homolaterality emerges with time and appears around 1 year. However, it it not fully mastered until later in toddler age. Crawling and climbing are important milestones to train the skill of homolaterality. In later toddler years the child should master crossing the midline with ease such as clasping one hand on the opposite leg. Difficulties with homolaterality is a sign of developmental delay in the toddler.
